Once again, researchers in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) share the beauty of their scientific fieldwork. Each year, EEB hosts a photo contest for its faculty, postdocs, students, and staff. Members of the department vote on the winning images. Check out the featured photos, some of which come from the oceanic depths of Japan, the skies of western Australia, a fox den in Arctic Alaska, and a U-M laboratory. This is one of the rare occasions that you’ll find ecologists and evolutionary biologists "shooting" animals, so to speak. The photo contest honors the memory of the department’s longtime “photographer at large,” David Bay, a staff member who passed away in 2009.
