By signing up for the network, you are making a commitment to support student success for first-generation students within LSA and at the University of Michigan. 

Join the LSA First-Gen Network!

Purpose

The purpose of the LSA First-Gen Network is to engage LSA faculty and staff who: 

  • Identify as first-gen and/or limited-income graduates or, 
  • Are not first-gen or limited-income but are interested in publicly identifying their support for first-gen student success as First-Gen Allies

Goals

The First-Gen Network has three main goals: 

  • Connect faculty and staff members with shared identities and interest to support first-gen students
  • Serve as a resource to help foster success for first-gen students
  • Provide opportunities for informal connections and mentorship opportunities.
