Departmental Advisor Training/Support Program (2010)
The Departmental Advisor Training/Support Program in Fall 2010 will consist of four 2-½ hrs sessions on Fridays from 2:30-5:00PM in the Newnan LSA Academic Advising Center’s training/conference rooms (G239/243 Angell). Departmental Advisors can attend as many or as few sessions as are of interest and convenient. Space is limited, attendees should RSVP by emailing the Program Coordinator, Susan Gass (sgass@umich.edu).
- October 15: Overview of Requirements, Intro to on-line resources including the CG and Wolverine Access, PTD and Audit overview
- October 22: Declaration and Release information, discussion of minors, transcript reading session, Standard's Board info - including Dean's file, grade review and progress reports.
- October 29: On-line file, exceptions and note taking tips, Students experiencing difficulties both academic and personal, ICP and BGS
- November 5: Transfer credit and study abroad, Honors majors, graduation and auditing
In addition we would arrange optional visits, or open houses or one more additional Friday session with SLC, LRC, Sweetland, Career Center, CSP, Math Lab, CAPS, UHS.
