Advisor Handbook

Advisor Handbook

This is a collection of frequently used links and a clearinghouse for information on policies and resources related to academic advising. The information is laid out amongst eight tiles:

  • Degrees and Graduation contains information about degree requirements and graduation that is not found on the LSA Requirements page
  • Placement and Credit contains information about transfer and exam credit, placement tests, and other units at UM
  • Student Populations contains information about international, cross campus, athletes and non-traditional students
  • Support contains information about resources for students about academics, mental health, financial aid and scholarships
  • Opportunities contains information about the Michigan Learning Communities and study abroad
  • Events and Schedules
  • Resources contains resources for Newnan Advisors
  • Orientation Links

Access to the Handbook is given to all departmental users of the Student Advising File.

The Handbook is a continuously updated site maintained by a team of general advisors. We rely on departments to provide the most current information for content related to their programs. Please alert the Newnan Center with updates, error reports, and suggestions for improvement. You may contact your Department Liaison or the Coordinator of the Advising Handbook (Erin Trame,
