About
When did you join Newnan? I joined the Newnan advising team in March 1999. When I started in Newnan advising I was going to school for business management and I was given an opportunity to be an Assistant Supervisor of the Student Academic Affairs Central Files Office. The Central Files Office held and maintained all of the LSA undergraduate student academic paper files. After 9 years of managing Central Files, the position phased out due to the creation of online files. Still wanting to help students and staff, I was given another wonderful opportunity to work the front desk. My current position, Student Administration Assistant, allows me to further use my organizational skills to assist staff and students.
What do you enjoy about working in Newnan? There are many reasons why I enjoy working in Newnan. I have been here since March of 1999. The students and my co-workers make it a joy to work at the University of Michigan. The opportunities of learning new skills and apply them to my job means a lot to me. I enjoy helping others succeed whether it's helping my colleague or giving information to help a student make a decision. Watching students grow and achieving their goals is especially important to me. I know the work I do makes a differences and that I am making a difference.
Subject you love and why? My favorite subject in school was Greek Mythology. I love the variety of stories and characters and enjoy learning about the many different adventures. These stories are talked about in books and movies frequently and I particularly like how these stories can teach us life lessons.
Interests and hobbies: I enjoy reading books with suspense. I love to travel and spend my summer time up north.
