Volunteer and Community Organizer

Leslie’s focus for the past 23 years has been on raising her three children, ages 23, 21 and 17. She has also spent this time serving in several volunteer leadership positions in her community, most involving fundraising, event planning/marketing, and board roles. Leslie and her husband, David, are a good DAC team as he has an LSA degree, and she has a Ross School of Business degree.

Her first job was as a marketing manager, where each week, she traveled to different locations around the country to deliver 3-hour seminars on Microsoft Office products. From the moment she set foot on the Microsoft campus, she saw the deep value of a liberal arts degree. On her team of eight, doing the same job, a variety of disciplines including psychology, English, computer science and, of course, business were represented. She saw how the critical thinking skills and ability to creatively problem solve allowed that team to function at the highest level possible, all made possible by the vast perspectives and experiences each individual brought to the team. Outside of family, work and volunteering, Leslie likes to play tennis, downhill ski and attend live music concerts.
