Partner, Head of Strategy & Investor Relations

Jessica Hoffman Brennan is a partner and Head of Strategy and Investor Relations at Kohlberg, a $10 billion private equity investment management firm. Prior to joining Kohlberg in 2022, Ms. Brennan spent 9 years as a partner and managing director of The Carlyle Group where she was responsible for investor relations and business development. There, she worked with many of Carlyle’s largest investors, including sovereign wealth funds, public pension funds, insurance companies, ultra-high net worth individuals, and formed several strategic separate accounts with some of Carlyle’s largest investors. 

In addition to her role at Carlyle, Ms. Brennan previously served as the Head of the Client and Product Solutions Group at Onex Corp. and was a managing director in the Private Fund Group at Credit Suisse, which acquired Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette.

Over her 20+ year career, Ms. Brennan has raised billions of dollars annually with some notable highs. She is a recognized leader in fundraising in alternative asset classes and her capital formation activities span 400+ alternative investment strategies, including: private equity, private credit, real assets, liquid alternatives, specialty and niche alternatives, such as strategic accounts and structured credit products.

Ms. Brennan is a board member of The Commonfund, a $30 billion alternative asset management company that invests on behalf of endowments and foundations. She serves on the Executive Board of the Wharton Graduate School, the Executive Committee of the Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard Kennedy School’s Women and Public Policy Center, the Dean’s Advisory Council of the University of Michigan’s College of Literature Science & the Arts. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. 

Ms. Brennan holds an MBA in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an AB degree in both economics and literature from the University of Michigan.
