A.B. Economics, 1984Managing Partner, Credit Value Partners, LLC
Don Pollard is the Managing Partner of Credit Value Partners, LLC (CVP), which is a private investment firm based in Greenwich, CT. Don founded CVP in 2008 and has over thirty years of experience in corporate finance and corporate credit investing. Prior to CVP, Mr. Pollard was the head of Credit Suisse's Credit Investments Group and co-head of Credit Suisse’s Global Leveraged Loan, High Yield Bond and Distressed Debt businesses. Don served on the Management Committees for Credit Suisse’s Securities Division and Asset Management Division. Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Pollard was the co-founder and global head of DLJ’s Leveraged Loan Group and Distressed Debt Group.
Don actively uses his LSA economics background to analyze investments and markets for his firm. Don and his wife, Anne, live in Greenwich, CT and have two sons: Jackson, a recent LSA graduate with a concentration in economics, and Max, currently a junior at U-M, studying biology and ecology.
Don and Anne are active in a variety of charities and are the co-founders/directors of The Maddie Fund for Mental Health and Wellness, a non-profit fund that supports programs and research geared to helping teens and young adults who are suffering from mental illness.
I volunteered to serve on the DAC because of my life-long love and appreciation of U-M. I have been actively involved with U-M advisory committees for over 20 years, including alum advisory boards for the Ross School and the economics department prior to joining the DAC. I headed recruiting at U-M for both DLJ and Credit Suisse for many years and have had dozens of U-M interns over the years. This active engagement with U-M has given me and my family a strong connection to U-M and a source of great joy for many years.
