Savithry Namboodiripad will be spending the next two years as a Collegiate Postdoctoral Fellow in Linguistics at U-M. After completing the fellowship, she will be joining the U-M Linguistics faculty as an assistant professor in 2019.

Her research interests include language contact, variation, change, language development and emergence. In her PhD thesis, she conducted psycholinguistic field experiments investigating language experience and use of variable constituent order in Malayalam.

Namboodiripad is completing her PhD in Linguistics from the University of California, San Diego. She earned a Master of Arts in Linguistics and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Linguistics from the University of Chicago.
