Marlyse Baptista, Rocky Meade and Sarah Thomason were invited by the Society of Pidgin and Creole Linguistics to hold a panel paying tribute to the late John Holm. Holm was a key figure in the field of creolistics and his work greatly contributed to our understanding of pidgin and creoles languages.  John Holm died on Dec. 28 in Azeitão, Portugal. He was 72.

The tribute took place on Saturday, January 7th at the Linguistic Society of America conference that took place in Austin, Texas.
