Linguistics graduate students Dominique Bouavichith and Alicia Stevers were the featured speakers for the final department colloquium of the semester on Friday, December 7. 

Dominique addressed "The role of social expectation in the perception of gay speech."

Alicia spoke on "social meaning and the said construction."

The department's colloquium series resumes on Friday, January 18, 2019, with a special Martin Luther King, Jr. presentation by guest speaker Lal Zimman of the University of California, Santa Barbara. Watch for details to come!
