Congratulations to Linguistics graduate student Carrie Morgan on receiving a Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Award (DDRA).

The funding will support Carrie’s research in Albania and Kosovo, from January 2020 to January 2021. Carrie will conduct ethnographic and sociolinguistic research on the relationship between language standardization, linguistic nationalism, and language change/variation.

The Fulbright-Hays DDRA is intended to fund doctoral research projects focusing on modern foreign languages and area studies in non-Western countries. Projects deepen research knowledge on and help the nation develop capability in areas of the world not generally included in U.S. curricula.

Congratulations, Carrie!
