U-M Linguistics would like to congratulate doctoral student Chia-Wen Lo. Chia-Wen has been awarded the Rackham International Student Fellowship / Chia-Lun Lo Fellowship for 2016-2017.

Chia-Wen Lo is interested in Psycholinguistics, mainly human sentence processing. Her previous study was to combine the formal analysis (grammar) and the experimental approach (processing) to investigate covert movement of indefinites in Mandarin. She intends for her future research to contribution to integrated models for language by combining theory and cognitive science. Chia-Wen earned her Master of Arts in Linguistics and her Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literature from the National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan.

The Rackham International Student Fellowship assists outstanding international students. In addition, the Chia-Lun Lo Fellowship assists outstanding students in Rackham programs who have earned a previous degree from a university in Taiwan. These fellowships will be awarded in a combined competition.
