L to R: Janae Hart., Teddy Dorsette III, and Kyah Kitchen

On February 14, the Language Across Modalities (LingAMod) discussion group welcomed guest presenters from Detroit Black Deaf Advocates (DBDA): Teddy Dorsette III, Kyah Kitchen, and Janae Hart. During their presentation, they introduced the work of DBDA, shared details about their upcoming events and initiatives, and discussed the many ways individuals can support their efforts.

The event was organized and run with the help of LingAMod members Kendall Lowe and Sovoya Davis, with additional support from Professor Natasha Abner.

We are grateful to DBDA for their important and inspiring presentation, and to all who helped make this event a success!
