Recent UM graduate Harim Kwon (now a postdoc at Université Paris Diderot) was one of several current and former Michigan linguists who participated in the International Congress of Phonetic Sciences, held in Glasgow during August (more on that here). Harim received the prestigious "Best Student Paper Award", sponsored by the the Association for Laboratory Phonology, for her ICPhS presentation, titled Spontaneous speech imitation and cue primacy. This is not the first time that Harim's research received this kind of recognition - she received a similar award in 2012 from the Acoustical Society of America for her presentation at Acoustics 2012  in Hong Kong (on which we reported here). Congratulations, Harim!
