For more than twenty years, the UM Council for Disability Studies has been offering a variety of events and presentations in the month of October “to educate the university community about important issues related to disability”. This year, the Investing in Ability events included an October 14 joint presentation by Anne Curzan and Robin Queen, who spoke on the place of language in issues of discrimination and bullying. Their presentation, titled “The impact of language on stigma and stereotyping”, was live-tweeted and has been "storified" by Patricia Anderson.
