The (formal) Approaches to South Asian Languages conference is the main venue in North America for the presentation and discussion of linguistic research focusing on South Asian languages.

The 13th (f)ASAL will be hosted by the Department of Linguistics at the University of Michigan during March 31st, April 1st, and April 2nd, 2023. The special theme is "language contact and multilingualism."

If you are interested in attending, please take a moment to fill out the Conference Registration Form by Wednesday, March 15. (f)ASAL will be fully hybrid, with attendees welcome to participate in person in Ann Arbor or online. We will work to accommodate participants across time zones as much as possible.
