Latina/o Studies Major

The major in Latina/o Studies is designed to give students a deep understanding of the historical and cultural complexity of Latina/o communities in the U.S. and beyond. A primary objective of the major is to engage students in a variety of disciplinary approaches to the study of U.S. Latina/os as well as to introduce them to the central intellectual questions and topics that have emerged in this field of inquiry. An interdisciplinary degree, the Latina/o Studies major consists of 30 credits units of core curriculum. Students should meet with the Director of the Latina/o Studies Program to discuss their academic plans.
