Faculty, staff, and students on the Latina/o Studies Advisory Board mourn the recent violence and death in Atlanta. We stand with all of those who fight for the dignity and rights of Asians and Asian Americans. We recognize, too, that lasting legacies of anti-Asian racism haunt the Americas. We call for a deeper sense of these histories and a unity in challenging degradation based on xenophobia. The faculty within the Asian/Pacific Islander American Studies Program, our partner unit, have been at the forefront of this fight on our campus and nationally. The LSAB encourages all of our community members to learn more about their efforts.
