PALMA Orientation

Tuesday, January 14, 2014
12:00 AM
4th Floor Ann Arbor District Library (Fifth Avenue and East William)

Proyecto Avance: Latino Mentoring Association (PALMA) is an established and respected organization on campus, in its 11th year of operation! PALMA works with entire Latino/immigrant families. Tutoring positions are available for Pre-K, K-12, and Adult ESL (Spanish language abilities required for ESL tutors). We also have a need for tutors with skills working with students with learning disabilities.

Tutorials are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30pm at the Ann Arbor District Library (corner of Fifth Avenue and East William). Pre-K and K-12 tutors will have little to no prep work to do before each tutorial. PALMA provides numerous resources for the Pre-K students and the K-12 students most always have homework. Adult tutors, however, are expected to devise lesson plans. Don't worry, though, we have some great resources on our CTools site that you can use to tailor the learning experience. It should take no longer than 30minutes to prepare for the entire week.

Orientation for the winter semester will be held on the 4th floor of the library on January 14, 2014 @ 6pm. We'd love any additional help so that we may serve as many members of the community as possible. If there are any questions refer to the website at http://michiganpalma.org/ or send questions to contact.palma@umich.edu.
