With Guest Speaker Laura G. Gutiérrez
BORDER COLLECTIVE Guest Speaker: Laura G. Gutiérrez (University of Texas, Austin) will be joining us on campus. The Border Collective is a group of graduate students and faculty at the University of Michigan that meets regularly to discuss the ways that art and politics intersect in cultural production related to physical and metaphorical borders. Although this group began in 2010 by focusing specifically on the U.S.-Mexico border, this year we are interested in broadening our focus to consider borders and spaces of all kinds, from the geopolitical to the interpersonal.
