Border Collective Mixer

Monday, September 16, 2013
4:00 AM
3773 Haven Hall

We would like to invite all interested graduate students and faculty to join the Border Collective for a beginning of the year mixer as well as a celebration of el Día de la Independencia in México. Join us for some delicious food and great conversation! Open to all! Tacos and aguas frescas by TMAZ. The Border Collective is a group of graduate students and faculty at the University of Michigan that meets regularly to discuss the ways that art and politics intersect in cultural production related to physical and metaphorical borders. Although this group began in 2010 by focusing specifically on the U.S.-Mexico border, this year we are interested in broadening our focus to consider borders and spaces of all kinds, from the geopolitical to the interpersonal. Our meetings will also include an exploration of what we mean when we talk about borders, frontiers, and spaces. For further information contact Orquidea Morales @ [email protected].
