The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology will be closing its galleries on May 16th for the deinstallation of the exhibition Leisure and Luxury in the Age of Nero: The Villas of Oplontis near Pompeii. This exhibition will be traveling on to the Museum of Rockies in Bozeman,Montana and then Smith College Museum of Art in Northampton, Massachusettes.  The permanent collection galleries will reopen on June 4, 2016 and the next Special Exhibition, Less Than Perfect, will open August 26, 2016.  

While the Kelsey Museum is closed, two of its textiles are on display in New York. These objects (nos. 33 and 46 on the list) are part of the exhibition Designing Identity: The Power of Textiles in Late Antiquity, open until May 22 at the Institute for the Study of the Ancient World, New York University.
