Frankel + Kelsey: Jews and Artifacts at the Museum

Tuesday, November 28, 2017
4:00-5:30 PM
Kelsey Museum of Archaeology Map
Five Frankel Fellows, five objects, five short talks. Join us as fellows offer their interpretations of an object that they’ve personally selected from the Kelsey Museum Collections. Each artifact will join us at the talk, serving as an (ostensibly silent) interlocutor and prompt for the Fellows’ reflections about the relationships between Jews and material culture in the ancient Mediterranean and Near East.

Graduate students and faculty from Judaic Studies, Classics, and History are invited to register if they wish to handle artifacts from the Kelsey selection related to ancient Jews after the talks https://goo.gl/forms/pOa61T3l0jIg3PiU2

Participants:
Rick Bonnie, University of Helsinki
Deborah Forger, University of Michigan
Megan Nutzman, Old Dominion University
Michael Swartz, Ohio State University
Juan Manuel Tebes, Catholic University of Argentina
