State of Exception, created in 2013 by Richard Barnes, Jason De Leon, and Amanda Krugliak at the University of Michigan Institute for the Humanities, has travelled to Parsons School of Design in New York and was recently reviewed in The New York Times. This is the 4th venue for the exhibition, which presents traces of the human experience--backpacks, water bottles, border patrol restrains, and other objects left behind in the desert by undocumented migrants on their journey into the U.S.
