9:00- 10:25    Introductions from Amanda Krugliak, flash introductions from participants.

10:30- noon   Artist Mark Dion on his practice, including his Institute for the Humanities Gallery projects and current projects. Q & A. 

noon - 1:00     Break (lunch will be provided).      

1:00- 2:45      Amanda Krugliak on concept design, exploring the visual choices, context, display, and organizational styles that impact the way we see things and the message we hope to convey. Visual Roundup exercise.

3:00-4:30      Artist Mary Mattingly presentation on her practice, including her Institute for the Humanities Gallery project and current projects. Q & A.

9:00-9:55     Amanda check-in, visual round-up. 

10:00-11:30  Martha Jones presentation on her practice, current work, including projects at U-M with curatorial consultation. Q & A. 

11:30-noon   Amanda with a brief overview of collaborations and perspectives on creating exhibitions in and beyond the institution. 

noon-1:00    Break (lunch will be provided).

1:00-2:45      Amanda Krugliak on Institute for the Humanities collaborative project State of Exception, the basics from concept to reconnaissance, launch of an exhibition, including planning, strategies, collaborative possibilities, generating interest and support, and life after.

3:00-4:30     Jason De León on his long-term study, The Undocumented Migration Project,  his overall practice and projects, including the Institute for the Humanities project State of Exception. Q & A.
