I’m from Toledo, Ohio (which is right below the Ohio-Michigan border). I’m majoring in Biology and minoring in Applied Statistics, and I plan on taking a gap year (or two!) before going to medical school. I love sports, movies, food, and outdoor things. At UM, I volunteer with Michigan Health Aid (MHA) and tutor through Opportunities for Educating Children (OEC). What I love most about HSSP is that it forms a smaller community in this massive school.
What is a quote that inspires you, and why?
“For me, giving up is way harder than trying” - lyric from Champion by Kanye West. Not a great role model but I love this lyric because I believe that it is important to give an honest attempt at something rather than just giving up without trying at all.
What is a show that you've watched, a book you've read, or music you've enjoyed recently?
I have recently read “Your Inner Fish” by Dr. Neil Shubin. It is about the evolutionary history of humans and how we can trace back our lineage to fish.
