About
Hi! My name is Kaycee and I am from Taylor, MI! I am a Biology, Health, and Society (BHS) major and planning to minor in Sociology of Health and Medicine. I am interested in either becoming an OBGYN or an otolaryngologist. When I'm not stressed about school, I love spending all of my money on boba, traveling, crying to kdramas, and spending time with friends! Outside of HSSP, I am one of the cultural show chairs for the Vietnamese Student Association (ps. come to our show, DVN!!) and involved with the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program, Comprehensive Studies Program, and the Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association and I am excited to be more involved this year! An interesting fact about me is that I broke my arm from playing freeze tag in the first grade. HSSP allowed me to develop a new perspective on our country's healthcare system and helped me understand how important our role is in improving this system.
What is a health issue that you are really passionate about, and why?
A health issue that I am passionate about is women's health and rights because the social construction of gender can drastically affect the health of women across the country. More recently, governmental policies and actions could further limit women's rights and individual freedoms, which can greatly contribute negatively to women's health. Ensuring that women are able to have the necessary freedoms and healthcare is essential to improving the lives of all women in this country.
Describe a way you implement wellness and taking care of yourself?
Taking walks and sleeping in!
