There are a variety of prizes, awards and fellowships available in the Fall and Winter terms.
Hopwood Contests
There are three Hopwood Contests — that is, contests that hold the "Hopwood" name — held throughout the year:
- The Hopwood Award Theodore Roethke Prize (open to all students)
- Hopwood Underclassmen Contest (open to first- and second-year students)
- Graduate and Undergraduate Hopwood Contest (open to all students)
For 2020-21, all Hopwood contests have a deadline of noon on January 27th, 2021 except for students graduating in the winter who will submit by December 20th, 2020.
Non-Hopwood Contests
- Fall Single Poem Contests
- The Roy W. Cowden Memorial Fellowship
- The Kasdan Scholarship in Creative Writing
- The Cora Duncan Award in Fiction
- The Peter Phillip Pratt Award in Fiction
- The Keith Taylor Award for Excellence in Poetry
- David Porter Award for Excellence in Journalism
