About
Sydney Owada is an Academic Advisor in the Honors Program. She supports students’ needs related to defining and pursuing their educational goals, as well as assists them in designing plans to meet those goals. In her role, Sydney aims to help students recognize and realize their potential to be active contributors to their communities as well as empower students to feel confident in sharing their ideas and advocating for their needs.
Sydney received her Masters Degree in English from University of Michigan in April 2021, and is currently pursuing her PhD in the same department. During her time at U-M, Sydney has taught first year writing courses and served as a coordinator for various graduate student organizations. Her academic research interests include medieval literature, performance studies, and gendered embodiment.
In her free time, Sydney enjoys spending time with friends and family, attending dance classes, and giving far too much attention to her mini doodle, Indy.
