Frank Herbert's 1965 classic, DUNE, is set for a November 2020 Paramount Pictures release, starring Rebecca Ferguson, Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Mamoa, directed by Denis Villeneuve. Our goal for this Honors-wide event is to explore DUNE's themes, of environmentalism, declining empires, and heroism,  which ring true to its fans worldwide. Notable achivements: Herbert's 1965 classic won the Hugo Award and the inaugural Nebula Award for best novel. DUNE was released as a movie in 1984 and as a television miniseries in 2000.

The only material needed to participate in this Honors-wide event is a copy of Frank Herbert's award-winning book, DUNE. Read for Sophomore Honors Award engagement points or read for fun. Discussions take place on Canvas, in live forums, and in GroupMe. In invitation should be in your UMich inbox. Questions:
