Bioethics and Your Moral Compass
In bioethics, Lisa Harris (MD, PhD) works “at the intersection of medicine and culture, and politics.” Do women have the right to pregnancy in a safe and supportive environment? If so, do they also have the right to become pregnant, or not to become pregnant, and give birth? Her interest in reproductive health, as well as ramifications from race and class disparity, began as an undergraduate English major. Rather than pursue these issues through literature, she earned a PhD in Medicine and Women’s Studies from Harvard. Her most recent work, as a Greenwall Scholar, studies in vitro fertilization and infertility. Join us as we discuss the morality of medical decisions.
