Public Lecture: Jacques Mistral, "Whither Europe?"

Friday, October 18, 2013
4:00 AM
Angell Auditorium C

What is happening in Europe? Where is it going? What’s the future of the Eurozone? Will the Euro survive? How will Eurozone economics affect the global economy? What does it all mean for the rest of us? While no one has a crystal ball to foretell the future, there are currents and trends that may indicate the direction events may take. Jacques Mistral has been a keen observer of the Eurozone from many vantage points; come discover what insights his experience reveals.

The Honors Program is proud to welcome Jacques Mistral as a Helen L. DeRoy Visiting Professor in Honors. An economist with wide international experience in the public and private sectors, Professor Mistral has been the Economic advisor to the Prime Minister of France, an Executive Vice President with the AXA group, a major international institution, and a special advisor to the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI-Paris). He is also a senior fellow of the Brookings Institution, and a visiting professor at Nanjing University.

Register here for the reception (5-7p, Perlman Honors Commons, G421 Mason Hall). The lecture, itself, is open.
