Interests:
Maximillian studies the intersecting development of changing technological epochs and the production of radical political philosophy and literature in 20th- and 21s-century Mexico. His work focuses on how new forms of leftist politics (and "the left" itself as a political entity) developed out of historical changes to the most basic relationship between people and the technological environments that make them human.

Maximillian is a columnist for The Baffler magazine--the title of his column is "The Poverty of Theory." His work has also been featured in the Los Angeles Review of Books, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Times Higher Education, Electric Literature, and ROAR magazine (full publication list can be found here)
