Heidi Gearhart (PhD 2010) has just published her first book, Theophilus and the Theory and Practice of Medieval Art. The book, based on her dissertation, is a study of the rare twelfth-century treatise On Diverse Arts and "explores the unique system of values that guided artists of the High Middle Ages as they created their works."

Gearhart, whose dissertation was directed by Elizabeth Sears, is assistant professor of art history at Assumption College.
