Joan Kee, assistant professor of history of art,  co-organized an international conference, Size Matters: Questions of Scale in Art History, which took place in Florence, Italy November 8-10, 2012. Conference speakers included Michigan History of Art alumna Darcy Grimaldo Grigsby (PhD, 1996) and Melissa McCormick (BA 1990).

Hosted by the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz - Max-Planck-Institut in association with the University of Michigan and sponsored by the Kress Foundation, this conference addressed scale, one of the issues most central to the making and reception of art.
