CG 8 ALPHA EDUCATION

Alpha Education (AE) is an organization dedicated to foster awareness of an overlooked aspect of World War II history, in addition to furthering the values of justice, peace, and reconciliation, both for survivors of the past and for those who continue to shape the historical narratives of the present and future. The Global Scholars Program, Collaborative Group 8 aims to support AE’s mission in addition to creating compelling online resources to provide accessibility and knowledge to large audiences.

Our goals were to help people become more aware of the impact of World War 2 on Asia, raise awareness on the term, “Comfort Women,” and the struggles that South-East Asian women had to go through during Japanese occupation, and understand the hardships that these women endure day-to-day and also educate people on the atrocities that were committed during World War 2 to help prevent something so horrific from ever happening again.
