Undergraduate Peer Mentor
About
Major: German, Neuroscience
My name is Maddy! I'm a senior from Commerce Twp., MI studying German and Neuroscience with a plan to pursue graduate school for cognitive neuroscience. I started studying German in middle school, and I've loved everything about the German Department at UM, so I'm beyond excited to be part of the Undergraduate Peer Mentor Program this year! Additionally, I'm involved in the University of Michigan Synchronized Skating Team (a club sport on campus), professional Greek Life, and the Campus Philharmonia Orchestra. I'm also involved in a research lab through the Department of Psychiatry, so I'm happy to talk about getting involved in research at U of M, my experiences, or even how to navigate double majoring in the STEM field. I also had the amazing opportunity to study abroad at the Goethe Institut Freiburg this past summer, so I'm happy to talk about living abroad as a student, as well as how to navigate an entirely new country, culture, and language. Outside of academics, I love to read, cook, figure skate, and run! Please reach out if you have any questions about managing double majoring, research, club sports, professional Greek Life, or starting in upper-level German!
