Stuart Richardson Wins Wallenberg Award
Congratulations to Stuart Richardson, double major in German and International Studies, who has won the Honors Program’s prestigious Raoul Wallenberg Humanitarian Award. The Award is one of nine Prizes given out to Honors Seniors, and it recognizes the awardee’s overall excellence, her/his past or current accomplishments and future potential in the area of humanitarianism. All of these were on display in Stuart’s recently defended honors thesis, entitled "Becoming Sinti und Roma: The Evolution of German-Roma Relations in the Bundesrepublik (1949-1985)."
In addition to a cash prize of $1000, winners also receive a formal, framed citation of their award signed by President Schlissel and Dean Martin; the winners’ names are inscribed on a plaque in the Honors office.
Please join the Department, our honors coordinator Kerstin Barndt, and Stuart’s thesis advisor Andy Markovits in congratulating Stuart on this great honor!
