German for All (Deutsch für alle)

Traditionally, elementary students from our district have visited the middle school to get an idea of the classes we offer, before making choices for their schedules. These visits were cancelled this year, so we decided to make a commercial showcasing some of the things we like about taking German and why they should try it, too.

This video will be distributed to our five elementary schools and posted to our Facebook page.

Im Laufe der Geschichte der Welt haben viele Einwanderer Deutschland verlassen, um sich anderswo niederzulassen und ihre Traditionen und Kultur mitzubringen. Mit unserem Lied wollten wir fragen: „Was könnte sich ein deutscher Einwanderer auf seiner Reise in die neue Welt fühlen?“ Wir haben versucht, diesen Standpunkt in unserem Lied „Aus das Nest“ einzufangen.

Die Bach Cello Suites wurden in Deutschland komponiert und sind um die Welt gereist, um von Cellisten überall gelernt zu werden. Sie sind sehr bekannt und respektiert und haben die barocke Cellomusik zu Bachs Zeiten stark beeinflusst. Ich habe dieses Stück gewählt, weil ich schon immer von den Suiten fasziniert war und bisher ein paar Stücke gespielt habe. Das Prelude to the Suites ist wahrscheinlich das bekannteste oder eines der beruehmtesten Cello Soli der Welt.
