Alison Hacker

As a  General Production intern Alison was assigned a new position each day, whidh gave her the opportunity to work with and learn from a variety of industry professionals. Her favorite position was working as the studio intern. As the studio intern, she was able to experience being in the studio all day and observe the crew and director; she also got to stand in during rehearsal. As the ticket intern, Alison would assist with loading in and warming up the monologue rehearsal audience. The writer’s research intern searched the Internet for trending news stories for the show’s opening monologue. For this position it was important to have an understanding of the show’s voice. The recording intern would work with the control room to record and archive a back-up file for the live show. Each of these positions required specific skills and gave Alison the opportunity to work with and learn from a variety of industry professionals. In addition to these positions, interns had the opportunity to assist the crew on remote shoots. These experiences taught Alison a lot about production coordination and working with high profile talent on set. She was amazed by the short amount of time it took to shoot and edit these sketches. Alison is so grateful to have had the experience that she did at The Tonight Show; she received invaluable skills and experiences that she will utilize for the rest of her career.
