Honors Concentrators 2007-2008

Geoffrey George

Original Film, It's All in One Place

George's film merges two sides, life and death, of a great American city, Detroit, through the story of two brothers who move back to the city from the suburbs after a family crisis. George's film shows the city in unfamiliar ways through images most people do not know because either they do not go into the city or because they have been away from the city for a long time. The film does not hide or ignore the pitfalls of Detroit, but it does evoke the feeling that the city still possesses enlightened values today as it heads towards an even brighter future.

Alexandra Ebel

Original TV Pilot, Zoetrope

Ebel’s project is a linked study/production on authorial vision in the contemporary sitcom. Her production is a 22-minute TV pilot called Zoetrope, a high school comedy with a semi-autobiographical twist.

Katherine Barkel

Original Vignettes, Draggers & Rip Spots

Barkel’s project, Draggers & Rip Spots, features three vignettes, each a visually-driven character
study exploring the individual’s emotional experience of rejection and isolation in the abandoned physical spaces of the urban wasteland.

Andy Windak

Stop-motion Animation/Photography Project, Invisible Croissants

Invisible Croissants is a stop motion animation and composite photography project that builds a collage model of the subconscious taking the form of a futuristic city where obstructions prevent a lonely figure from retrieving his stolen vehicle.
