Joseph DeLeon presented on a panel titled "The Working Life: Culture, Class, Resilience and the Cards" on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at the American Studies Association annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia.  DeLeon's paper, titled "Crafting Community Memory: Class and 1980s Visions of Public Computing," explores how the Community Memory project's public computing terminals in the Bay Area in the 1980s contained a classed understanding of public space despite the project's stated critique of middle-class, suburban, home-computing technology.
