Doctoral Student Joseph DeLeon presented a paper this past weekend at the 4S SYDNEY TRANSnational STS (August 31 - September 1, 2018). DeLeon participated on the panel The Invisible Aspects of Digital Infrastructure, presenting a paper entitled, "The Other Computing Counterculture: Community Memory's Public Computing Terminals."The paper summarized part of DeLeon's dissertation research on how the Community Memory project of Berkeley, California, built public computing terminals from the 1970s-1990s in opposition to the computer's migration into the home as a private, domestic technology.
