Melissa Phruksachart recently published “On Mentoring Future Faculty of Color” in Feminist Teacher (vol. 27, no. 2-3, 2017, pp. 117–132) and discussed her work in an interview for the U of Illinois Press Blog. The essay recounts the efforts of Phruksachart's graduate school cohort to forge a hospitable place for minority thought in the academy through an initiative called the Mentoring Future Faculty of Color project. MFFC created a community of graduate students and faculty committed to diversifying the professoriate through mentorship. These spaces offered students of color platforms to share, circulate, and strengthen their work and their ability to articulate its importance.

Feminist Teacher (FT) provides discussions of such topics as multiculturalism, interdisciplinarity, and distance education within a feminist context.
