Professor Colin Gunckel recently published a piece in a special issue of Aperture, the magazine's first issue dedicated to Latinx photography, guest-edited by curator Pilar Tompkins Rivas. Gunckel's piece, "Capturing Movimientos," examines the role of photography in Chicano and Puerto Rican social movements of the 1960s and 1970s, and the place of this activist photography in recent museum exhibitions.
