The English Department recognizes the invaluable experience of a summer internship while at the same time recognizies that taking an unpaid internship may not be economically feasible for many students. While we cannot fully fund a student's summer internship experience, we are making an effort to alleviate some of the costs associated with an internship.
The English Department will offer some funding for at least five successful candidates who participate in our Summer Journalism Internship Opportunities. We will also provide funding for several other students who have secured an internship on their own or with one of our partners.
English majors and minors will be given priority for this departmental funding. Students are encouraged to download the Application for English Undergraduate Internship Grants.
Additional Funding Sources
LSA students also have access to summer funding through the LSA Opportunit HUB. Students will be able to apply for funding through both the English Department and the LSA Opportunity HUB and may be able to combine awards from both sources.
