About
June Bumgardner (B.A., English, University of Florida) is a first-generation student with interests in spatial narrative, digital humanities, and anything trans- (gender, cultural, formative, etc.). Their specific focus has been in how narratives fixed in space (e.g., architectural units, land/cityscapes, or writing about space) can be critiqued with literary methods that reveal how space is mythologized and culturalized. They believe bringing intersectional frameworks of justice to bear on these spaces help teach about and expand notions of justice and community.
Their bio writing skills have always been weak because they prefer to have some distance from their subject, so they usually rely on lists. List of personal things s/he/they think you should know but are not already explicit:
- Jacob is non-binary and largely prefers "June" in professional settings (both names are okay)
- They love plants and have a passionate interest in critical plant studies
- They appreciate your attention and time, always.
Thank you for reading! They always appreciate emails if you wish to work together or just introduce yourself!
