The City of Los Angeles has appointed Laurence Goldstein to serve as a juror for the selection of the next Poet Laureate of Los Angeles. (The current Laureate is Robin Coste Lewis.) The city "will convene a meeting of three or four candidates to be interviewed in March by the Mayor" after the preliminary reading of applications.
Professor Emeritus Goldstein published a book of literary criticism in 2014, Poetry Los Angeles: Reading the Essential Poems of the City (University of Michigan Press).
