Our alumni panelists include:

Lauren Morrow (Class of 2021) is a fiction writer from St. Louis, MO. She is the winner of multiple awards and prizes, including two Hopwood Awards. Her work has appeared in Ploughshares and The South Carolina Review, among other publications, and she was a 2022 Aspen Words Emerging Writer Fellow. She currently lives in Brooklyn, where she works as a Senior Publicist for Dutton (Penguin Random House) and is working on a novel.

Jeremy Gregersen (Class of 2001) will begin his next role as Head of School at Dwight-Englewood School in Englewood, New Jersey in January of 2023. He served as Head of The Meadows School in Las Vegas, Nevada from 2014 to 2022. Prior to working as Head, he worked at The Meadows as a teacher, department chair, dean, and division director. His previous independent school experience was at Wayland Academy in Wisconsin. While working to improve his schools’ admissions, fundraising, financial aid, and DEIB initiatives, Jeremy has retained a teaching role throughout his administrative tenure.

Ian Burnette (Class of 2020) is a Communications and Creative Lead for the d3 Center at the U-M Institute for Social Research. Ian develops learning experiences that teach behavioral scientists to use novel trial designs and statistical methods created by the Center to optimize interventions that improve health and education outcomes. In addition, they oversee the production of written and visual communications for a wide variety of audiences, from academic articles to interactive visualizations.

Gala Mukomolova (Class of 2013) is a Moscow-born, Brooklyn-raised, poet and essayist. Her book, Without Protection, is available through Coffee House Press. She is a recipient of the 2016 Discovery Prize from 92nd St Y & Boston Review. Gala is a founder and a part of The Cheburashka Collective, a collective of women, nonbinary writers, and people of marginalized gender identities who are refugees/first-gen from the Soviet diaspora. Gala spent nearly a decade writing astrology articles for large syndicates like NYLON and Refinery29. These days, she talks about astrology on her podcast, Big Dyke Energy Podcast with co-host Rose Blakelock and offers Tarot readings on a queer practitoner directory site she co founded called QueerHealers.com. She spends her weekdays freelancing as a narrative designer for Amplify, a curriculum and assessment company.
